Preferences Dialog

The Preferences Dialog allows authorized person to change various IMPRES Battery Fleet Management operational parameters such as sounds that played when various activities occur. The Preferences Dialog has tabs at the top of the dialog. The function of each control within each tab is described below.

Report Thresholds Tab

The Reports Thresholds tab allows you to change IMPRES Battery Fleet Management reporting thresholds. Note that changes to the values in the Reports Tab apply to all IMPRES Battery Fleet Management computers. It has the following fields:

Control Description
Service Life Health (%) Textbox The Service Life Health (%) determines at what capacity ratio (Potential Capacity / Rated Capacity) beneath which your batteries will be determined to be at the end of their service life. This value effects which batteries appear on the Battery Service Life Report as well as the contents of the Recommendations field of the battery. All batteries that have a Health (%) that is less than this value will appear on the Battery Service Life Report
Service Life Age (Days) Textbox The Service Life Age (Days) determines the number of days after which your batteries were manufactured are determined to be at the end of their service life. This value effects which batteries appear on the Service Life Report as well as the contents of the Recommendations field of the battery. All batteries that have a Age (Days) value larger than the number that you enter here will appear on the Service Life Report
Lost Batteries (Days) Textbox The Lost Days Threshold is the minimum number of days that have passed since your batteries data have been collected. Batteries that have not been collected for more than the number in the Lost batteries (Days) Threshold will appear on the Lost Batteries Report
Inactive Battery Purge (Months) Textbox The Inactive Battery Purge (Months) Threshold is the maximum number of months that Inactive batteries can be stored in the IMPRES Battery Fleet Management DB. For these inactive batteries that are longer than the value in the Inactive Battery Purge (Months) will be automatically removed from IMPRES Battery Fleet Management DB.
Battery Data Refresh Timer (Days) Listbox The Battery Data Refresh Timer Threshold is the maximum number of days between battery data reads. The range is from 7 to 21 days. The Default is 21 days.
Lost Radios (Days) TextBox The Lost Radios Threshold is maximum number of days between radio registrations. The Default is 21 days.
Radio Hold Off Timer (Hours) Listbox The amount of time after power up the radio within which the radio must registers its battery with the IMPRES Battery Fleet Management Application. The range is between 1 and 3 hours. The default is 2 hours. Note: Large radio fleets should use larger Radio Hold Off Timer (RHOT) to minimize message collisions and congestion during shift changes, when many radios power up within a short period of time.
Radio History Purge (Months) Listbox The Radio History Purge Threshold is the maximum number of months that radio history data can be stored in the IMPRES Battery Fleet Management Database. The Range is from 1 to 6 months. The Default is 3 months.

Sounds Tab

The Sounds tab allows you to change the sounds that are played when an IMPRES Battery Fleet Management event occurs. Note that changes to the values in the Sounds Tab apply only to this computer.

Control Description
Sound Type Label Lists the available actions that you can choose to change the sound. Select a Sound Type from the list to change
Play Button Click the Play Button to review the currently assigned sound for the selected Sound Type
Enable Checkbox When you check the Enable Checkbox, the sound will be played on completion of each Sound Type operation. When you uncheck the checkbox, the sound will not be played
Sound File Displays the name of the sound file for the selected sound type
Browse Button When you click on the Browse Button, you will be presented with a Windows file dialog with a default file type of Wave (.wav). If you select a file from the list and press OK, it will be associated with the selected Sound Type in IMPRES Battery Fleet Management. If you press Cancel, the selected Sound Type will not be changed
OK Button If you click on the OK Button all of the changes that you have made in the Preferences Dialog will be saved to IMPRES Battery Fleet Management
Cancel Button When you click the Cancel Button, none of the changes that you have made in the Preferences Dialog will be saved to IMPRES Battery Fleet Management

Language Tab

The Language tab allows you to change the language that IMPRES Battery Fleet Management appears in.

Note that the Language Tab will not appear in the Preferences Dialog if there is only one language to select from.

Note that changes to the values in the Language Tab apply only to this computer. It has the following fields:

Control Description
Select Language Dropdown Listbox The Select Language Dropdown Listbox allows you to select the language for IMPRES Battery Fleet Management. Note that the default value is the language that was selected when IMPRES Battery Fleet Management was installed

The Preferences Dialog can be accessed from the Preferences menu item under the Edit Menu in the Main Menu or from the Preferences button on the Toolbar
